Effortlessly Chic Micro Wedding | Natalie & David
See more about this intimate wedding in Charlottesville on Over the Moon.
As Natalie and David started their 2020 with their engagement, they had no idea that their Parrish Art Museum plans would change. The weekend after their venue walk-through, the United States went into lockdown and so Natalie and David placed wedding planning on hold.
In June 2020, the couple decided to move forward with their wedding, but in a different direction. The pandemic brought to light how important it was for their grandparents and great-uncle to be at their wedding; and that it was more important than a large wedding.
Natalie wore a Johanna Ortiz dress that grazed just below her knees, to show off navy Manolo’s and her grandmother’s gold ankle bracelet. The morning of her wedding day, her great-uncle gifted her with timeless pearl earring, belonging to her grandmother. The thoughtfulness of her details carried on to her wedding band, which came from the same family-run jeweler that her parents’ wedding bands came from.
Natalie and David love the mountain vista views that Charlottesville provides, and on the front lawn of the Clifton Inn, the Blue Ridge Mountain was the perfect fall backdrop. The intimate party allowed for mingling and talking with every guest present. Place settings were china that was gifted to the couple, from their guests. The back of each menu featured an illustration of the Clifton Inn gardens, hand drawn by Natalie’s grandmother.
While the couple is looking forward to their wedding celebration in 2021, Natalie says “it really was wonderful to have this joyous moment to celebrate and just have fun in the midst of a challenging year.”
